I’ve compiled a list of the questions we are asked most often in order to provide any help you might need, and to minimize the amount of messages we clutter your dashboards with. If you have a question that hasn’t been addressed by this post, please feel free to hit up our ask box for help.
“Where can I find the pattern links?”
The links and text included in photo posts don’t show up on the main page of the blog, so to view them you’ll need use the permalink. When you hover over a post this should appear in the corner:
This is the permalink! When clicked it will take you to the individual post, and beneath the photo there should be a link to where you can find the pattern. Example:
“I want to learn how to knit but I have no idea where to begin!”
Learning to knit is easier than you might think, and one of the simplest ways to get started is through Youtube. There are hundreds of videos that demonstrate everything from very basic skills (such as casting on, knitting, and purling) to more advanced techniques (like cable knitting, increasing, or even how to use double pointed or circular needles).
You could also: sign up for a class at your LYS (local yarn shop), or pick up any number of books geared specifically toward beginners.
“Do you have any book recommendations for beginners?”
“Where can I order quality yarn if I live in the U.S.?”
“Do you take these photos?”
No, we do not. We showcase photos from various sources such as online knitting publications, pattern books, and magazines. All the photos are credited with a link back to the original source.
“Help, I can’t find a pattern!”
All of the posts made within the last six or seven months have included a link to where you can download or purchase the pattern. However, due to some oversight, many of the earlier posts we made do not. If you are having trouble finding the pattern for a specific object we’ve posted, please do not hesitate to drop us an ask so we can do our best to track it down for you.
“Do you allow people to submit photos of their own knitting?”
It is something we might test out in the future, but currently we do not.
“What are some knitting-related websites I should visit?”
“Where can I find you on Ravelry?”
Here & here.
“Why can’t I find links to your personal blogs?”
Mainly because our personal blogs generally have little to do with knitting, and it seemed silly to promote them on a blog that does. However, since people still seem curious, you can find us here and here.
Have we forgotten anything? If so, let us know!
